No indoor marching unit would be successful without the help of volunteers. In
fact, we would not be in existence without them! If you are interested in
volunteering with INERTIA during the 2008 season, please
contact us and specify how you would like to help. We need volunteers in the following areas: Equipment Crew At each performance we will need several adults to help move the percussion equipment and the floor tarp throughout the hallways to and from the performance floor. All volunteers will receive an Equipment Crew t-shirt. Transportation For all travel outside of the Columbus area, we will rent passenger vans. At this time, we estimate that we will need four adults (two drivers and two backup drivers) for each out-of-town performance. A list of performance dates that need drivers will be posted soon. Uniforms Uniform volunteers will coordinate measuring the ensemble members for their uniforms in November or December. In addition, one volunteer is needed at each performance to distribute the uniforms to the members, collect them afterwards, and oversee that they are hung neatly in the equipment trailer prior to departure from the show site. Fundraising INERTIA Indoor Percussion Ensemble will participate in two annual fundraisers: a Popcorn Sale and a Pie Sale. One volunteer will be needed to collect the forms and the money for each, and will coordinate delivery of the product for distribution. In addition, INERTIA and the Color Guards will be working in concession stands at Ohio State athletic events and concerts. Volunteers will be needed to schedule members into events, track credit earned towards membership fees, and/or become trained adult leaders for the events. Remember, parents and/or family members who work at these events will earn credit towards the fees of their respective INERTIA member. |
